Willie Mae Snider, 94, Bardstown

Willie Mae Snider, 94, of Bardstown, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her home.

She was a retired secretary for Eugene Wilson & Co. and a native of Nelson County. She was a member of the Bardstown Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Secretary and was active in the W.M.U. She was a volunteer for the Flaget Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Bardstown Senior Citizens, the Nelson Co. Homemakers and was chosen Homemaker of the Year.

She was the daughter of the late Will Scott and Lizzie Weaver Snider, and was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil “Rats” Snider.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mary D. Snider of Taylorsville; one niece, Lora S. Cheek and her husband Woodie Cheeck of Taylorsville; one nephew, Scott Snider and his wife Beth Snider of Shelbyville; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The funeral is 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Bro. Stan Lowery and Bro. Dylan Mays officiating. Burial is in the Big Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bardstown Baptist Church Building Fund or the donor’s favorite charity.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
