Grace Molyneaux Svihovec, 92, Bardstown
Grace Molyneaux Svihovec, 92, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 5th, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 5th, 1919 in Red Bush, Ky. Upon graduating from Pikeville College in 1939, she moved to Bardstown to begin her career and retired from Barton Brands Distillery. She was a member of Bardstown Hospital Auxiliary, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) Chapter John Fitch, C.B.S. Community Bible Study, Wesleyan Guild of the Bardstown United Methodist Church and Bardstown United Methodist Church. She loved her church, gardening, antiquing, sewing and would relax playing bridge with her wonderful friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Charles Y. Molyneaux Sr., and her late husband, Joseph Svihovec; one daughter, Sara Kathryn Molyneaux; her parents, Rev. John and Sarah Hamilton; four brothers, Rex, Guy, David, and Benny Hamilton; and three sisters, Ollie Davis, Jessie Williams, and Ada Miranda Hamilton.
Survivors include two sons, Capt. Charles Yale Molyneaux, Jr. and his wife Joan Molyneaux of Charleston, S.C., and Richard Lee Molyneaux and his wife Donna Molyneaux of Bardstown; two daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Ellen Carothers and her husband James Carothers of Peachtree City, Ga., and Julia Ann Wilson and her husband Guthrie Wilson of Bardstown; eight grandchildren, Jean-Paul Molyneaux of Durham, North Carolina, Karli Cox and her husband Grant Cox, James “Judge” Carothers, Kate Smith and her husband Mitch Smith, all of Louisville, Ellen Zutterman and her husband Rich Zutterman, Nancy Wilson, Hamilton and Nicholson Molyneaux all of Bardstown; and five great-grandchildren, Carter Zutterman, Grace Zutterman, Grant Cox, Gus Cox and Ashton Cox.
The funeral is 3 p.m. Thursday June 7, 2012 at Bardstown United Methodist Church, with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Stith will officiate.
Visitation is 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Bardstown United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Bardstown United Methodist Church or Hospice of Nelson County.
