Police investigation leads to four arrests on drug-related charges

Tuesday, June 12, 2011, 8:30 a.m. — A search warrant of a New Haven home on Monday by local authorities led to the arrest of four people on theft and drug-related charges.
Bardstown Police and deputies with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police troopers arrived Monday at a home at 14 Dee Head Road with a search warrant following complaints of drug trafficking at the residence.
James Bailey, 67, Dee Head Road, New Haven, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, cocaine; and receiving stolen property. According to a police press release, Bailey allegedly tried to run when police arrived and was observed throwing bags of cocaine inside the residence.
Tina Smith, 31, Dee Head Road, New Haven, was arrested and charged with trafficking controlled substance, cocaine. Daniel Donahue, 40, Jim Clark Road, New Haven, was arrested and charged for trafficking controlled substance, cocaine. Janet Johnson, 35, Eddie Miles Road, New Haven, was arrested and charged with complicity to trafficking controlled substance, cocaine.
All four were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
During the search police, recovered an LCD television believed to be stolen from Walmart. Police believe recently shoplifted items from Walmart were being traded at the home for cocaine.
Police seized approximately 377 grams of cocaine with a street value of $37,700. Police also seized a Chevrolet Corvette, drug-related materials and a small amount of cash.
