James Richard Clayton Sr., 75, Bardstown

James Richard Clayton Sr., 75, of Bardstown, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was a self-employed tree surgeon, a Marine Veteran of the Korean War and of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include four sons, James Richard Clayton Jr., of Montclair, Va., John Clayton of Cox’s Creek, Kerry Lee Clayton of Lancaster, Calif., and Charles Anthony Clayton of Japan; two daughters, Betty Jean Clayton of North Carolina and Naomi Verlee Avila of Bardstown; two brothers, Donald Clayton of Louisville and Bobby Clayton of Indiana; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Lebanon National Cemetery.
