Mary Margaret Nalley, 90, Bardstown,

Mary Margaret Nalley, 90, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Nalley; her parents, Anthony and Ida Rose Newton; and two brothers, Garland Newton and Gordon Newton.

She is survived by a son, Francis Edward Nalley Jr., and his wife Sharon Nalley of Chicago; one daughter, Barbara Chesser and her husband Harold Chesser of Bardstown; one brother, Gary Newton of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Scott Edward Nalley of Mission Viejo, Calif., Denise Marie Nalley, and Dr. Keith Allen Nalley both of Chicago; and one great-grandson, Kevin Nalley of Mission Viejo, California.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will be celebrant and the Rev. John Schwartzlose will be concelebrant.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, and 8-9:15 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown. A prayer service will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
