Richard Theodore ‘Ted’ Barnes, 84, Lexington

Richard Theodore “Ted” Barnes, 84, of Lexington, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was a Bardstown native, a self-employed realtor, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Jury Barnes of Lexington; one daughter, Sue Dailey and her husband Marty Dailey of Lexington; two sisters, Victoria Montgomery of Henderson, and Clara Breed of Maud, Texas; one brother, James Barnes of Louisville; and one grandson, Benjamin Bryant and his wife Alyssum Bryant of Montray, Calif.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
