Harold David Mattingly, 72, Bardstown

Harold David Mattingly, 72, of Bardstown, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was a native of Nelson County, a retired dairy farmer, a United States Army Veteran, and a member of the Little Union Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Nellie Elizabeth Metts Mattingly, and was preceded in death by a brother; Jacky Mattingly.

He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Frances Holt Mattingly; two daughters; Penny Jolicoeur of Bardstown, and Cheryl Smith and her husband, Adam Smith, both of Bloomfield; one son, David Mattingly of Bardstown; his father, Charles “Buster” Mattingly of Fairfield; four sisters, Betty Hilton and her husband, David Hilton, Marilyn Prewitt and her husband David Prewiit, all of Bloomfield, Patsy Sanders and her husband George Sanders, both of Mount Washington, Kitty Essex and her husband Muriel Essex, both of Fairfield; four brothers, Paul Mattingly and his wife Brenda Mattingly, both of Bardstown, Billy Mattingly and his wife Shirley Mattingly, both of Fairfield, Kenny Mattingly of Fairfield, and Mike Mattingly and his wife Dawn Mattingly, both of Lexington; and six grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Will Sipes officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
