Martha Lenora Hamilton, 84, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 1, 1928, in Manton and formerly lived in Loretto. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Irvin and Thelma Laura Blanford; her husband Paul Virgil Hamilton; one daughter, Mary Jane Hamilton; two sons, Joseph Steven and David Wayne Hamilton; and three brothers, Derlin Newton, Blandford Newton and Vannie Newton.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Hamilton and his wife Bonnie Hamilton of Springfield, Eddie Hamilton and his wife Rose Hamilton of Bardstown; two daughters, Connie Fenwick and her husband John P. Fenwick of Lebanon, Paula Bartley and her husband Tommy Bartley of Bardstown; two brothers, Johnnie Newton and his wife Janice Newton of Louisville and Bobby Newton of Manton;
18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Mark Hamilton will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Monday with Deacon Joseph R. Dant presiding.
