Emma Elizabeth Rizer Boone, 86, of Bardstown

Emma Elizabeth Rizer Boone, 86, of Bardstown, died June 28, 2012, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. She was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Bardstown and was a graduate from Bethlehem Academy. She was previously employed as an admitting clerk at Flaget Memorial Hospital and a hostess at the Old Talbott Tavern. She was a former member of St. Joseph Parish, a lifelong homemaker and an avid bingo player.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” W. Boone Jr.; her parents, Arthur and Emma Elizabeth Clements Rizer; seven brothers, J.T. Rizer, Frankie Rizer, Nat Rizer, Bobby Rizer, Jimmy Rizer, Louis Rizer and Barney Rizer.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Joe Boone of Fort Wright, Marty Boone of High Springs, Fla. and Jimmy Boone;
four daughters, Jean Arnold of Clinton, Utah, Mary Felkins of Fern Creek, Cathy Stamper of Akron, Ohio, and Anne Mudd of Springfield; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott will officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home.
