Bardstown firefighters extinguish controlled burn on Boston Road

Wednesday, July 4, 2012, 11:55 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to a possible brush fire in the area of 4840 Boston Road at about 10:55 Wednesday night. Firefighters found the fire was actually a controlled burn; however the fire apparently contained numerous tires that generated a lot of black smoke. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and advised the resident tires could not be openly burned. Firefighters were on the scene for about 50 minutes.
