James Maurice “Jimmy” Thomas, Jr., 69, of Raywick
James Maurice “Jimmy” Thomas, Jr., 69, of Raywick, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1942, in Marion County. He formerly operated Thomas Trucking Company in Louisville, T. J.’s Lounge in Saint Mary’s and the Fifth Wheel Lounge in Raywick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Maurice Thomas, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Allen Thomas; one daughter, Robin Thomas; and one infant son, Anthony Thomas.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Theresa Downs Thomas; two sons, Marcy Thomas and his wife, Susan Marlow of Bardstown, and Stuart Thomas and his wife Lori Thomas of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Phyllis Troutman of Raywick and Mary Kay Bland and her husband Perry Bland of Lebanon; one brother, David Thomas of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Robyn Thomas, Amanda Cox, Francy Nally, Michael Thomas, Thomas Thomas, Katie Thomas, Christopher Thomas, and Ashley Auberry; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with prayer services at 7 p.m. conducted by Deacon Joseph R. Dant. Grandchildren and their spouses will serve as pallbearers.
