Virginia L. Griffin, 78, Bardstown

Virginia L. Griffin, 78, of Bardstown, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Griffin; one daughter, Sharon E. Browning; and three sisters, Rose Winstel, Janie Bell Cummins, and Marie Cummins.

Survivors include three daughters, Belinda Boyd of Mitchell, Ind. Diana Hagan and her husband Raffo Hagan of Loretto, and Tammy Simerl and her husband Dan Simerl of Cox’s Creek; two sons, Allen Barnes and his wife Sue Barnes, Ronnie Barnes and his wife Rose Barnes, all of Louisville; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. Pastor Freddy Riggs will officiate.

Visitation is 12-8 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home.
