Justice Center to close Thursday, announces court schedule changes

Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 3:15 p.m. — The Nelson County Justice Center will be closed Thursday for the funeral District Court Judge Robert W. Heaton.

All court motions and matters scheduled for Thursday are moved to Friday, July 20, 2012, at 9 a.m., with all Division I cases pending before Judge Charles Simms III to be heard in the circuit courtroom on the second floor, and all Division II cases pending before Circuit Judge John David Seay to be heard in Courtroom B on the first floor.

The funeral Mass for Judge Heaton is 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate, and Rev. David Carr and Rev. Joseph Batcheldor will concelebrate.

Visitation is 2–8 p.m. Wednesday July 18, 2012, and 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Memorial contributions may go to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or to the Guthrie Opportunity Center.
