Semi truck driver injured after rig crashes on Loretto Road

Thursday, July 19, 2012, 1:20 p.m. — The driver of a tractor-trailer rig was injured Thusday morning at about 10:40 when his truck ran off the road and knocked down a utility pole and drive through a fence. The accident happened on KY 49 near 7704 Loretto Road. The driver, 29, was wearing a seat belt. Nelson County EMS and the New Hope Fire Department responded to the accident site. EMS transported the driver to Flaget Memorial Hospital complaining of back pain and left knee pain. Loretto Road was shut down while the truck was recovered by a wrecker service.
