Two men arrested after caught in burglary attempt on Ashberry Dr.

Thursday, July 19, 2012, 4:31 p.m. — Two men were arrested just before noon Thursday after Bardstown Police were called to a burglary in progress at 142B Ashberry Drive.

Officers were called by a neighbor who witnessed three individuals attempting to break into an apartment. As police arrived, they heard the sound of breaking glass and found two Bardstown men, Kelvin D. Scott, 22, of 142G Ashberry Dr., and Lance M. Calbert at the back door of the residence.

A police department press release stated the two had not gained entry into the residence but were in the process when officers arrived. The door also had marks indicating they pair had kicked it trying to gain entry.

Both men are current on probation for other offences, police said. The men were charged with attempted burglary, second-degree, and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
