William Leroy Downs, 62, Nazareth

William Leroy Downs, 62, of Nazareth, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born June 15, 1950, in Chico, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and was a retired Army veteran with 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Austin and Edith Marie Dawson Downs.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Downs of Hawaii and Michael Downs of Chatsworth, Ga.; two daughters, Terry Downs and Chrissy Downs, both of Chatsworth, Ga.; three sisters, Donna Wilkerson and her husband Ed Wilkerson of Bardstown, Sandra Carol Turner and her husband Jack Turner, both of Tulsa, Okla., and Mildred Pearl Rader and her husband Jim Rader, both of Clarksville, Ind.; two grandchildren; and one aunt, Jewell Brown.

Cremation was chosen with a graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors provided by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, Bardstown, is in charge of arrangements.
