Man suffers gunshot wound during Bloomfield Road domestic altercation

Monday, July 24, 2012, 12:45 a.m. (Updated 4:30 p.m.) — An unidentified man was shot and injured late Sunday night during a domestic dispute that took place at a home in the 4700 block of Bloomfield Road.
About 11:20 p.m. Monday, Nelson County Dispatch received a 911 call from a woman who said she was hiding in her home from a man who had chased her with a gun. The woman stayed on the phone with dispatchers as two deputy sheriffs responded. While police were en route, dispatchers received a call from a second male subject who said he had been shot by the man who was threatening the woman. A deputy caught up with the injured man on East John Rowan Boulevard near Huddle House and called for an EMS ambulance. The man was transported by Nelson County EMS directly to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
When police arrived, the woman had moved to the home’s roof to evade her pursuer. Officers searched the home and the area, but did not find the alleged gunman. At 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, officers reported they had a taken a suspect in custody from the Double Springs Road area. According to Louisville media, the man was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injures and will be charged and arrested when he is discharged from the hospital.
