Bobby Ray Kennedy 71, Lyons Station

Bobby Ray Kennedy 71, of Lyons Station, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his home. He was born April 15, 1941, in Larue County to the late Albert and Nannie Coyle Kennedy. He was a member of the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Nelson County and retired as plant manager of Zak Limited Cooperage at Athertonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Celesta Brady Kennedy; four brothers, Ernest Lee Kennedy, Leonard “Fiddle bow” Kennedy, Charles Lee Kennedy, and George Everett “Dugan” Kennedy; and one sister, Bessie Holbert.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Kennedy of Lyons Station; one sister, Betty Jacquart of Aurora, Colo.; a loving companion, Shirley Hatfield and her family, Steven Hatfield, Susan Hatfield, Ashley Hatfield, Alecia Hatfield, Amber Hatfield, Anna Hatfield, Sherri Sallee, Alan Sallee, Emily Sallee , Mallory Sallee and Tyler Sallee.

A celebration of his life is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Boston with Bro. Bruce Nichols and Bro. Scott Kerr presiding. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, and 8-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, then proceed to church for the 11 a.m. service.
