Wallace Ballard, 86, of Lebanon
Wallace Ballard, 86, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at The Village of Lebanon Nursing Center. He was born April 6, 1926, in Marion County to the late Walter and Lida Smith Ballard. He was a retired farmer and former member of Holy Cross Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mauritia Hutchins Ballard and two sisters, Tillie Beaven and Sue Ritchie.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Carol Ballard and her husband Phil of Prattville, Ala., Brenda Salyers and her husband Bob of Louisville; two sons, Steve Ballard and his wife Linda of Lebanon and Gerard Ballard and his wife Judi of Johns Creek, Ga.; four sisters, Ruby Padgett of Canton, Ga., Virginia Ballard of Bardstown, Mary Ellen Napier of Mount Washington and Judy Platt of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two brothers, Howard Ballard and Anthony “Happy” Ballard, both of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Jude, Paula, Walter and Bridgett Ballard and Jennifer Brown; and three great-grandchildren, William, Sophie and Lilly Ballard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Joseph R. Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.

Pallbearers are Anthony Ballard, Ron Platt, Howard Hutchins, Billy Gardner, Robert Lanham and Herbert Hutchins.
