Edith Corbin Tucker, 85, Bardstown
Edith Corbin Tucker, 85, of Bardstown, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at her daughter’s residence. She was born March 21, 1927, in Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Tucker; her parents, Johnnie and Maudie King Corbin; two brothers, Sonny Corbin and Douglas Corbin; six sisters, Juanita Allender, Doris Cecil, Faye Judd, Marian Swiggum, Letitia McWilliams and Gail Lewis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Tucker and Michael Tucker, both of Bardstown and John Tucker of Elizabethtown; four daughters, Shirley Elmore of Brooks, Sandy Lee of Bardstown, Becky Jones of Mount. Gilead, Ohio and Betty Wilson of Mount Washington; a sister, Anna Jones of Jeffersonville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at St. Thomas Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. C. Joseph Batcheldor will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A prayer service will be 5 p.m. Thursday conducted by Deacon Sam Filiatreau.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Nelson County.
Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of the arrangements.
