Overnight rains to push Rolling Fork out of its banks Saturday morning

Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, 10:35 a.m. — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Rolling Fork River near Boston. Rainfall overnight – totally 2 to 3 inches – is to blame for the rapidly rising river levels. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning.

At 9:30 Friday morning the Rolling Fork at Boston was at 30.2 feet. Flood stage is 35.0 feet. The river will rise above flood stage and crest near 36.6 feet by Saturday evening.
