Northeast Nelson Fire called to barn fire on north side of Bloomfield
Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, 5:30 p.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department had to deal with live power lines on the ground and lightning in the air as it worked to contain a barn fire near the intersection of Pleasant View and Taylorsville Roads. Nelson County Dispatch received a call about 5:30 Sunday afternoon reporting smoke from a barn near the Bruckheimer farm. When the fire chief arrived on scene, he confirmed the barn was on fire, with the possibility of fire spreading to other areas a reality. Firefighters had control of the fire within 20 minutes. Low water pressure forced firefighters to shut down some lines to allow water to be used on other areas.
