The Bardstown City Council will have at least one new member after the November election — incumbent Councilman Fred Hagan did not file for re-election.
In a telephone interview this afternoon, Hagan explained that he never intended to be on the council for an extended time. “I didn’t want people to think being on the council was ‘my job,'” he said.

Hagan said he was pleased with his contributions as a member of the council, and said he would remain involved in the community, including his membership on the local American Red Cross board.
