Bardstown man arrested after presenting altered prescription
Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, 6:25 p.m. — A Bardstown man was tasered by Bardstown Police following a foot-chase after he allegedly tried to pass an altered prescription at a local pharmacy.
According to police, Charles L. Hardin, 32, of Bardstown allegedly tried to have a prescription filled at Crume Drug Store for a family member. A pharmacist noticed the date had been altered. After confirmation the prescription had been tampered with, the pharmacy refused to fill the prescription. Hardin allegedly left with a family member in a brown van.
The van was located at the intersection of Pulliam Avenue and O’Bryan, and Hardin was located nearby on foot near the intersection of Pulliam and East Daughtery Ave. Hardin tried to flee on foot, and was apprehended by police in an alley. Hardin resisted arrest and fought the officers and was tased by an officer to subdue him.
Hardin was treated by EMS at the scene for cuts and abrasions before he was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. He was charged with criminal possession of a forged prescription, fleeing and evading police (on foot) and resisting arrest. Hardin also had three outstanding arrest warrants for charges of possession of a controlled substance, two counts and possession of drug paraphernalia.
