Joseph David Barnett, 47, Bardstown

Joseph David Barnett, 47, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at his home. He was born Nov. 25, 1964, in Bardstown. He was employed as a machinist at American Greetings for 25 years. He was a sales representative for Vermeer Sales and Services for the last 3 years and was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hutchins Barnett, and a brother, Ricky Barnett.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandy Barnett; a son, Wes Barnett of Bardstown; two daughters, Tiffanie Clark and her husband Wesley, both of Springfield and Courtney Barnett of Bardstown; his father, William Hamilton “Ham” Barnett of Bardstown; two brothers, Jimmy Barnett, Billy Barnett and his wife Denise; three sisters, Pat Barnett, Susie Comer and Jennifer Barnett; one granddaughter, Zoey Rose Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Troy Overton will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Friday conducted by Deacon John Hamilton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Church or Hospice of Nelson County.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of the arrangements.
