Martha Nest receives NATP’s 2012 Tax Professional of the Year award

Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, 10 p.m. — The National Association of Tax Professionals presented their most prestigious award “Tax Professional of the Year” for 2012 to Bardstown resident, Martha A Nest at their Annual Conference on July 9, 2012, in Baltimore Maryland.
The purpose of this award is to recognize those tax professionals who go above and beyond in service to their community and profession. To be chosen for this award a member must meet many requirements, including a good-standing membership for at least five years, 24 hours of completed NATP education in the past 12 months and volunteer service on either the national or state level.
Martha has been a member of NATP since 1998 and has served the organization in many capacities. She has served on the national nominating committee, has held several advisory committee positions and is past president of the Maine Chapter of NATP. Martha has been on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Chapter since moving to Kentucky in 2009 and is presently the Vice President.
Members of the National Association of Tax Professionals work at offices that assist over 11 million taxpayers with tax preparation and planning. NATP has more than 24,000 members nationwide. Members include individual tax preparers, enrolled agents, certified public accountants, accountants, attorneys and financial planners. Martha was chosen by her peers to receive this award in recognition of her Self-Sacrificing Service to her Profession, Community and NATP.
In addition to her service to NATP, Martha is President of the Bardstown Women’s Club, and volunteers for the Red Cross, the Humane Society and the Bourbon City BBQ Festival. She is member of the Democratic Women’s Club.
Martha is an experienced tax professional who is able to assist you with all aspects of accounting and tax preparation on both the State and National level. She is an Enrolled Agent, who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the Treasury Department to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS.
Her practice, Westview Tax Services located at 110 Westview Drive in Bardstown has grown to include over three hundred small businesses and individuals from all over the United States.
