Flood warning continues for western Nelson Co./Boston area
STAFF REPORT
Tuesday, March 1, 2011 — Nelson County remains under a flood warning due to the rail-swollen Rolling Fork River at Boston.
Though the river crested Sunday and the river level was dropping, Monday morning’s rainfall totals pushed the river levels up once again. At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the river level was 36.8 feet, or 1.8 feet above flood stage. The river is expected to crest near 37.8 feet on Thursday before it begins to fall later Thursday.
