Yeast files to run as a write-in candidate for Fairfield city commission

STAFF REPORT

Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, 11 a.m. — Fairfield resident Jane Yeast filed her intent to be a write-in candidate for an open seat on the Fairfield city commission. Yeast filed her intent Thursday morning at the Nelson County Clerk’s office.

Only two people filed to run for the four seats on the Fairfield city commission. Two incumbents — Don Hardin and Faye Clayton — filed prior to the Aug. 14 filing deadline. Write-in candidates do not appear on the ballot, but must file their intent to run as a write-in candidate.

If there are open seats on the commission after the November election, commissioners will be appointed to fill the open seat or seats.

The deadline to file as a write-in candidate is 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Contact the county clerk’s office for more information.
