Obituary: Therese M. Filiatreau, 97, of Bardstown
Therese M. Filiatreau, 97, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Joseph Home in Louisville. She was born July 20, 1915, in Springfield. She was a homemaker, a former member of the St. Joseph Bereavement Committee and a member of St. Joseph Parish. She was a loving mother, grandmother and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Filiatreau; her parents, R. S. and Carrie Montgomery Mudd; and several brothers.
Survivors include six sons, Thomas R. Filiatreau and his wife Joyce, both of Louisville, George J. Filiatreau and his wife Alice Marie, Samuel Filiatreau and his wife JoAnn, Charles K. (Paula) Filiatreau and his wife Paula, N. A. Filiatreau and his wife Jeanne, all of Bardstown, and Jack Filiatreau and his wife Debra, both of Augusta, Ga.; seven daughters, Carolyn Crepps, Joyce Edelen and her husband Joseph, Susan Smith and her husband Robert, Jeanette Stephens and her husband David, all of Louisville, Elizabeth Mayer and her husband James, both of Radcliff, Alice Filiatreau and her spouse, James Pigram, both of Floyd Knobs, Ind., and Ann Riley and her husband Sam, both of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hammer will officiate with Deacon Sam Filiatreau assisting.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Deacon Sam Filiatreau.
