Chirlean Maddox, 76, Bardstown
Chirlean Maddox, 76, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She was the former Chirlean Firman of Nelson County and was employed by Fulton, Hubbard and Hubbard for 42 years as a custodian. She was a member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church where she served as a deacon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Marshall and Evylean Stoner Firman; five brothers, Dan Firman, Vernon Firman, Hillery Firman, Lee Firman, and William Firman; and two sisters, Pearl Miller and Carrie Maddox.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Maddox, Jr.; twp sons, Michael Maddox and Freddie Maddox, both of Bardstown; two daughters, Pamela Maddox and Debra Mason and her husband Dwight, all of Bardstown; an adopted nephew, Kenny Maddox of Bardstown; four sisters, Mary Emma Lydian of Bardstown, Mildred Davis, Elsie Lydian and her husband Charles, all of Cox’s Creek and Emma Jean Monteria and her husband Cliff, both of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Samuel L. Harris will officiate.
Visitation is 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
