Leota Savannah Cissell, 91, Bardstown

Leota Savannah Cissell, 91, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Bardstown. She was the former Leota Lynch, a former bakery employee in Louisville and a member of Bardstown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Cissell Jr.; one grandson, Ricky Cissell; five brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan Smith and her husband Dean, and Nita Cissell, all of Bardstown, and Lois Tharp and her husband Bill, both of Rineyville; five sons, Gary Cissell and his wife Barbara, and Wendall Cissell, all of Bardstown, William “Bill” Cissell and his wife Sylvia, all of Louisville, Ronnie Cissell and his wife Sarah, and Mickey Cissell and his wife Cathy, all of Shepherdsville; three sisters, Joyce Bandy and her husband Jimmy, both of Breckinridge County, Jewell Cundiff and her husband Lavern, and Janis Chapell, all of Louisville; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Bro. Dylan Mays will officiate.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Nelson County.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
