Magistrate: Mud left on road a traffic hazard near New Hope

Thursday, March 3, 2011, 9:55 a.m. — A deputy sheriff was called to the area of the New Hope store to investigation a complaint called in by District 1 Magistrate Keith Metcalfe. According to Nelson County Dispatch, Metcalfe reported that a farmer in that area was tracking an excessive amount of mud onto the roadway and creating a traffic hazard.

10:40 a.m. — Officer reports most of the mud has been scrapped off, requests the fire department respond to wash off the remaining mud. The officer is leaving the scene to discuss the matter with the farm operation.
