Nearly 300 people turn out for United Way’s Spirit 5k walk, run

Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 — Kenny Fogle, the executive director of the United Way of Nelson County, reports that this year’s Spirit 5k walk and run attracted 295 participants. The event is the kick-off fundraising event that is held in conjunction each year with the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.In the Women’s division, the three winners were: Patrice Edelen, Bardstown, 21:59 (gold medal); Ashley Mouser, Bardstown, 23.58 (silver medal); and Heather Wise, Bardstown, 24:18 (bronze).
In the Men’s division, the top three finishers were: Anthony Spencer, Bardstown, 18:54 (gold medal); Tim Downs (Team Orbis of Bardstown), 18:57 (silver medal); and Rob Carter, Shelbyville, 19:10 (bronze).
