1 killed when convertible crashes, overturns on Clarktown Rd.

Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, 10 p.m. — One person was killed Saturday evening when a white convertible crashed and overturned in the 100 block of Clarktown Road near its intersection with Balltown Road. The accident was reported about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with witnesses reporting two people trapped inside the overturned convertible with only inches of clearance between the vehicle and the ground. The New Hope and Rolling Fork fire departments were called to help rescue the victims. Nelson County EMS requested the county coroner when it was apparent one of the occupants was already deceased. The other victim was flown from the scene by helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville.
