Motorcyclist injured after car forces him to swerve, lay bike down

Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, 10:20 p.m. — A 41-year-old motorcycle rider was injured Saturday about 7:30 p.m. when he swerved to miss a car that pulled out in front of him and he laid his bike down. The accident happened in the 800 block of West Stephen Foster Ave. The bike missed hitting the other vehicle, but skidded approximately 100 feet on the roadway. The male rider who was not wearing a helmet suffered abrasions and an injured shoulder. He was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment.
