John William Hayes, 71, Bloomfield

John William Hayes, 71, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Bloomfield. He was a native of Ashland and a retired employee of the Stone Container Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member Poage Masonic Lodge # 325 F&A.M. in Ashland, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Right, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Norma Lucille Dobbins Hayes, and was preceded in death by his wife; Linda Sue Hayes.

Survivors include two daughters; Missie Land and her husband Robert, both of Bloomfield and Christy Davis of Orange Park, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen by the family with a memorial service to be held noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Leland Parks officiating.

Visitation is 10 a.m.- noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at t6he funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
