Grand jury indicts Bardstown woman on multiple forgery charges

Thursday, March 3, 2011, 6:40 p.m. — Stacey Lynn Mitchell, aka Stacey McElwain, 37, Bardstown, was indicted by a Nelson Circuit Court grand jury Wednesday, March 2, on six counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument.
The indictment stems from several incidents involving Mitchell allegedly forging documents between Oct. 1, 2010 and Feb. 17, 2011. Those documents include a rental agreement and two checks totaling $432.10 at Aaron’s Rental, and a court order regarding child custody arrangements which included the forged signature of Judge Jack Seay.
Mitchell is also charged in the indictment with possession a forged W-2 employee wage form that showed her to be employed by Jewish Hospital, and possession of a forged Certificate of Nursing from the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.
