Hazel Walls Pash, 95, Bardstown

Hazel Walls Pash, 95, of Bardstown, died Aug. 10, 2012, at Windsor Gardens Nursing Center.

She was born in Washington County and spent her early years in Illinois. She was a graduate of Bardstown High School, Nazareth College and the University of Kentucky. She also attended Western Kentucky University. She was was an elementary school teacher in the Bardstown City Schools for 36 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bardstown. She was an active member of the Bardstown Garden Club, the Nelson County Retired Teachers Associ­ation and the Flaget Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She was married to Clifford G. Pash for 46 years until his death in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sarah Walls; three brothers, Reuben Walls, Ted Walls and Max Walls; and one sister, Nancy Walls Smalley.

She is survived by one son, C. Grey Pash, Jr. of Springfield, Va.; one sister, LaJune Jones of Bardstown; and one brother, Bill Walls of Bardstown.

A memorial service is set for noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bardstown with Dr. Rick Loader officiating with a private burial in Bardstown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may go to the Bardstown Foundation for Excellence in Public Education or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
