Glenna Ockerman, 72, Bloomfield

Glenna Ockerman, 72, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her home. She was born April 23, 1940, in Spencer County. She was an employee for Kentucky Pork Producers, and a member of Greens Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Estelle Sampson; one brother, Ralph “Sonny” Sampson; and three sisters, Thelma Parrish, Deanie Steller, and Margarette Kelly.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Ockerman of Bloomfield;

four daughters, Debbie Tichenor and her husband Gary, and Wendy Lewis and her husband Jeff, all of Cox’s Creek, Sherry Higdon and her husband Dean, both of Louisville, and Jo Carol Stephens and her husband Kevin, both of Bloomfield; and eight grandchildren.

The funerali s 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. The Rev. Winfred Hagerman and the Rev. Paul Hagerman will officiate.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, and 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Nelson County.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
