Local woman arrested after crashing into house while fleeing police

Friday, Oct. 12, 2012. 9 a.m. — A Bardstown woman was arrested early Friday morning after she crashed her car into a homes on South Second Street and East Muir Avenue while fleeing police.

At about 3:11 a.m., Bardstown Officer Kyler Wright attempted to stop a blue 1991 Oldsmobile on East Muir Ave. after he had observed the car swerving and speeding on East Stephen Foster Ave. When the driver failed to stop a short pursuit began. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the side of a home at 211 South Second St. before coming to a stop against the back porch of a home at 206 East Muir.

The driver, Natashia Mosier, 29, fled the scene on foot and was pursued by Wright who forced her to the ground. Mosier refused to take part in field sobriety tests aned refused a blood alcohol breath test at the Nelson County Jail. A police department press release said she told Wright she fled because she was on probation and had too much to drink.

Mosier was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating on a suspended license, fleeing or evading police in a vehicle and on foot, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

The South Second Street home suffered moderate damage. The home is currently listed for sale and was unoccupied.
