Firefighters called to reported kitchen fire at Hunan Restaurant

Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, 7:55 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to Hunan Restaurant, 708 Bloomfield Road, at about 7:35 Friday night for a fire in the restaurant’s kitchen. Firefighters arrived to find the business evacuated and the fire extinguished. Firefighters reported a pilot light gas line popped off the stove, and when it was re-lit the flames flared up. The fire was out and employees were repairing the problem as firefighters arrived. There were no injuries and the restaurant sustained no damage.
