Etha Mae King, 79, Bardstown

Etha Mae King, 79, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at Colonial Health and Rehab Center. The former Etha Mae Carey was born July 13, 1933, in Nelson County. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for G and R Garden Center, and a member of New Salem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert “Jack” and Lillie Mae Witten Carey and one granddaughter, Hallie Elizabeth Cain.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin King; three sons, Stuart (Vickie) King and his wife Vickie, both of Douglasville, Ga., Rick King and Mark King, both of Bardstown; two daughters, Deborah Cain of Lexington and Sue Hardin and her husband Bernie, both of Cox’s Creek; one sister, Anna Jane of Kissimmee, Fla.;
10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral is noon Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the New Salem Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. James Taulman and Bro. Jonathan Gann will co-officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Children’s Home.
