Bardstown firefighters respond to reported house fire on Poplar Flat

Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, 1 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to the 1700 block of Poplar Flat Road for a structure fire. The fire had been extinguished by the homeowner, but requested the fire department to check out the residence. Firefighters found no cause for the fire. They used their equipment to remove smoke from the building. Firefighters were on scene for about 30 minutes.
