John Curtis Norris, Sr., 65, of Seymour, Ind., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Schneck Medical Center in Indiana.
JOHN CURTIS NORRIS SR.
He was born June 29, 1947, in New Haven. He was a member of the Catholic faith, retired from Spaceguard after 46 years of service and was an avid fisherman. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Even after his passing, he gave the gift of life as an organ donor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Willie Clark Norris; three brothers, Raphael Norris, Truman Norris and Borrelli Norris; and a sister, Joann Korink.
He is survived by two sons, John Curtis “J.C.” Norris, Jr. and Joseph Andrew Norris, both of Seymour, Ind.; six daughters, Tabitha Johnson, Shannon Salas, and Jessica Etienne, all of Seymour, Ind., Sandy Norris and Wendy Norris, both of Louisville, and Tracy Arnold of Bedford, Ind.; four brothers, Roscoe Norris, Garry Norris, Tim Norris and Bryan “Butch” Norris, all of Bardstown; six sisters, Norma Higdon, Carolyn Deep, Alice Marie Coulter and Helen Hall, all of Bardstown, Clara Gunning and Connie Padgett, both of Hodgenville; nine grandchildren, Shelly Norris-Johns, Samantha Norris, Kayla Lingross, Hailee Jones, Alex Salas, Katelyn Norris, Jacob Arnold, Maria Vera and Curtis Etienne; one great granddaughter, Emi Snow; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wildlife Refuge Memorial, c/o John Curtis Norris, Jr.
