JOSEPH MICHAEL ‘MIKE’ GARDNER

Joseph Michael “Mike” Gardner, 51, of Loretto, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1960, in Marion County. He was a former employee of Meilink Safe Company of New Albany, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elsie Miles Gardner; three brothers, Edward Gardner and infants David and Ronald Gardner; two sisters, Betty Luckett and infant Dorothy Louise Gardner.

Survivors include five sisters, Ann Nichols and her husband Marion, Theresa Detherage, Nancy Ballard and her husband Kenny, all of Loretto, Carolyn May and her husband Andy and Suzanne Holt and her husband Terry, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; six brothers, Billy Gardner of Lebanon, Marvin Gardner and his wife Betty, both of St. Mary’s, Bob Gardrer, Gerald Gardrer, Randy Gardrer and Ray Gardner and his wife Judy, all of Loretto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 p.m.
