James Leonard ‘J.L.’ Faulkner, Jr., 79, Bardstown
James Leonard “J.L.” Faulkner, Jr., 79, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his home. He was born May 26, 1933, in Manton and was retired from National Life and Accident Insurance Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Daisy Kathleen Thurman Faulkner, and his parents, James Leonard and Marguerite Caple Faulkner.
Survivors include five daughters, Teresa Tucker and her husband Mike, Connie Hagan and her husband Pat, Belinda Sharpe and her husband Charles, Donna Hamilton and her husband Billy, and Carla Medley and her husband Louie, all of Bardstown; five brothers, Paul Faulkner and his wife Ruby, both of Georgia, John Faulkner and his wife Jo, and Gerald Faulkner and his wife Billie, all of Louisville, Harold Faulkner and his wife Wilma, both of Loretto, and Charles Faulkner of Texas; five sisters, Helen Bodenbender and her husband Norman, both of Indiana, Joyce Morris and her husband Johnny, both of Melody Lake, Brenda Conley and her husband Larry, both of California, Doretha Corbett and her husband Mike, both of Alabama and Doris Jabaley and her husband John, both of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Wayne Thompson and his wife Jackie, Katie Hanson and her husband Tim, Patrick Hagan, Tammy Wimpsett and her husband Jason, Kimberly Gordon and her husband Jason, Corey Thompson, Craig James Faulkner and his wife Tai, Brittany Medley and Bradley Medley; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Reverend Paul Eve will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6:30 p.m. Friday by Deacon Joe Livers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Gregory Bereavement Committee.
