Charles Woodson ‘Woodie’ Hood, 74, Bloomfield

Charles Woodson “Woodie” Hood, 74, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Nelson County, a retired employee from General Electric and a farmer. He was a former employee of Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield. He was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church, Bloomfield Masonic Lodge No. 57 F.&A.M. a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner and an Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Hood and his wife Carolyn Hood.

Survivors include his mother, Sueanna Hood of Chaplin; one daughter, Susan Ockerman and her husband Tony, both of Chaplin; two sisters, Marie Hood and her husband Donald, both of Willisburg and Judy Burns and her husband Roger, both of Chaplin; one brother, Frank Hood and his wife Linda, both of Chaplin; and one granddaughter, JeniSue Ockerman.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Richard Carwile, Bro. Earl Pike and Bro. Leland Parks officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Firday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Houghlin Funeral Home. The Bloomfield Masonic Lodge will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m.

The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Bloomfield Baptist Church Building Fund.

Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
