Two Bardstown men charged after meth lab bust on Stinson Drive

Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, 2 p.m. — Two Bardstown men were arrested Monday on drug charges following a methamphetamine investigation at a home in Stump’s Mobile Home Park.

Karl Dockter, 50, and Ronald Retallack, 41, were arrested Monday by police following the execution of a search warrant by the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force at a home at 216 Stinson Drive.

The search warrant was issued as part of a methamphetamine investigation. Inside the Stinson Drive home, officers found an active, one-pot bottle being used to “cook” meth. In the garage, officers found three more active one-pot “cooks” and one discarded one-pot meth bottle in the garbage. In the home and garage, police also found numerous items associated with meth manufacturing, including digital scales; straws and glass pipes used to ingest meth; small zip lock type bags for packaging drugs for sale; tools for extracting lithium from batteries; and various vessels used to contain the chemical reaction. Police also recovered chemicals necessary to make meth, including 22 lbs of ammonia nitrate, sodium hydroxide, lithium batteries, salt, sulfuric acid and lantern fuel. Police removed approximately 40 pounds of hazardous waste from the property.

Dockter had been arrested earlier on outstanding warrants and was later charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Retallack was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine; trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree, less than 2 grams of methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

Individuals with information regarding this incident are asked to contact police at 348-6811 or the Hardin County Narcotics Task Force at 270-769-0694.
