Two teens arrested on arson charges following dumpster fire
Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, 9:30 p.m. — The two teenagers involved in a dumpster fire Tuesday afternoon were arrested and charged with arson after an investigation by Bardstown Police.
The teens, ages 16 and 17, were charged with third-degree arson; first-degree criminal mischief; and second-degree wanton endangerment.
The arrests follow an investigation after eyewitnesses positively identified the two teens. One eyewitness saw the pair start the dumpster fire.
Police had been contacted earlier by the Bardstown Fire Department regarding fires of suspicious origin in the area behind the Kentucky Home Square shopping center. When the dumpster fire was reported Tuesday, police officers responded as well as the fire department.
Police found the teens at the Bardstown Community Park.
