Rep. Floyd to discuss state pension reform on Tuesday’s ‘Brooks & Co.’

STAFF REPORT

REP. DAVID FLOYD

Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 — State Rep. David Floyd will be the studio guest Tuesday on WBRT’s “Brooks & Company” radio program, airing 11-noon on 1320 WBRT, 97.1 FM, and streaming live online.

Floyd will discuss the need for pension reform and the proposals issued last week by the Kentucky Public Pension Task Force to pay down pension debt and create a new pension plan for future employees.

Pension reform is needed because of the growing unfunded liability state government has in its pension obligations to state workers. One of the task force’s recommendations is to begin full funding of the pension fund by 2015.

Tune in to 1320 AM, 97.1 FM from 11 to noon Tuesday for “Brooks & Company.” Listen live online at www.NelsonCountyGazette.com or www.WBRTCountry.com. A video of the program is also broadcast on BRTV Bardstown Cable TV channel 19.
